Crazy Christmas Mix: Carol Of The BellsCrazy Christmas Mix: Carol Of The Bells
Day 8 in a crazy attempt to post 5 Christmas songs every day till Christmas
Carol Of The Bells is probably my favorite of the classic Christmas tunes. It's also known as the "Ukranian Bell Carol" and was first played to American audiences in 1921 at Carnegie Hall. It also seems to be the version that let's people get really creative with their renditions. Check out these 5 totally different versions arranged from shortest (1:18) to longest (6:19).
- John Williams - Carol Of The Bells [MP3]
- Poirot - Carol Of The Bells [MP3]
- Barenaked Ladies - Carol Of The Bells [MP3] *
- Mannheim Steamroller - Carol Of The Bells [MP3]
- December People - Carol Of The Bells [MP3]
* Highly Recommended
Video of a 7 and 1/2 minute long rendition by pianist Joseph Dang after the jump. You gotta watch how he builds the song up until it blows. Soo good.
If you have a great Christmas song (that not everybody has heard) email it to me at tips AT podbop DOT org.

Thank you, you have brought a ten year search to an end. I have tried to find a good rendition of the carol of the bells since I first heard it, believe it or not as a snippet at the beginning of a adams family movie. I can't describe how happy I am.

That was wonderful. "Carol of the Bells" is my favorite Christmas song for a reason! The Mannheim Steamroller version especially brought back my childhood, and that video was amazing. You made my day.
